I plan in advance the pending tasks that my team must carry out and communicate in advance in order to achieve the objectives for our stores
Hybrid Working Environments; Share Your Tips to Success!
Nothing replaces a good old fashion phone call to hear their voice and say “Hi, how is your day?” Make a point to call and just say hello, don’t discuss work or anything business related. Just a quick friendly call.
One thing I try to remember about working in a hybrid work community is that not everything needs to be a Zoom meeting. There are certain items that are email communication, others that are a quick phone call, and more in depth conversations that may include more than 2 people are video meetings.
I totally agree Susie! Anytime I’m considering throwing a meeting on a colleague’s calendar, I ask myself that same thing; can this be a slack or email. Most times the answer is yes
I make it a priority to communicate with our team members - even a simple check-in from time to time. Some days are easier than others … but I even put a reminder on my calendar to do so that way it doesn’t slip by. The contact points add up and often end up meaning a lot!
I expect communication out of my manager. We have solid communication where I work and it makes everything flow easier.
Communicate with your peers and staff
Mine is to start off meetings, FORGET YOU WORK TOGETHER. Take five minutes to catch up personally before starting the meeting agenda. This reminds everyone that your coworkers are people, and can boost moral and remind the company of the common mission.
I absolutely stand by this @horizon.marketing! It helps when meetings aren’t just straight to business and you get to chat about your weekend, social life, family, etc.
I believe that a manager that keeps communication open and frequently requested has the best practices. A successful manager appreciates their team and all that they bring to the staff.
Check-ins with others, taking time for yourself, stepping away fully after work hours
@tara.turkovich couldn’t agree more! What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work to disconnect/shut off the work day?
In the car business it is too hard to work from home and stay connected to inventory and sales managers. Most of us don’t want to do this from home
We do not work hybrid, but if we were to, I would highly recommend meetings on zoom with everyone daily to be sure everyone stays on the same page and can all get updated.
I’m a people manager and I make it a point to spend time with everyone across all offices whenever I’m connecting with the office. I want to know about your family and kids and what’s happening in your world because it MATTERS to YOU! In turn, I’m able to relate to them and it makes it much easier to relate when we’re working through challenges and opportunities
Love this @amanda.wright! I feel like that makes such a big difference as a team, knowing what each other’s passions are and what they love to do outside of work
Using collaboration tools for calls and documents preparation, as a manager, teams are feeling productive and having a life balance
Keeping everyone in the loop
Our home office is hybrid &, to encourage people to actually WANT to come in, they do things like theme days, free lunch, food trucks, etc!
Communication is the key to achieving goals
